Advanced Scuba Diver

Learn which diving specialties interest you, and what type of diving you enjoy most.  Gain more confidence and capability.  Begin to consider the direction diving will take you, as you go for everything it has to offer.  The Advanced SCUBA Diver course is an enjoyable certification course for 10-year-old (or older) certified divers who desire additional training, have moved from one diving area to another and desire local orientation or who desire orientation to a variety of diving sites and conditions.

PREREQUISITES:
Minimum age:  15 years (10 for Jr. certification)
Beginning certification or equivalent level of training

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • 6 open water dives
  • Review basic scuba skills, safety procedures, equipment, air consumption calculation, dive planning, decision making, etc.
  • Introduction to rescue diving
  • Night/limited visibility diving
  • Deeper diving (approximately 60-100 feet)
  • Surface marker buoy/lift bag usage
  • Compass and natural navigation

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Complete scuba (cylinder, BC with LP inflator, regulator with alternate air source, SPG and depth gauge)
Exposure suit appropriate for environment
Weights and weighting system
Dive light
Wet notes and pencil
Dive tables and logbook
Other desirable or instructor specified equipment:  knife, Save-a-Dive kit, First aid kit, etc.
