NACD CAVERN &
INTRODUCTION TO CAVE DIVING
 
COSTS:
$550 includes course and instructor fees per student (class of 3)
- $825 per student for class of 2 or $1,650 for private training
$36 for NACD Cavern & Cave Student Workbook
$30 for NACD c-card
PREREQUISITES:
- Student numbers: 3 maximum
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Minimum logged dives: 25
- Advanced Open Water SCUBA and Nitrox certifications recommended
COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Establish the minimum skills, knowledge, dive planning, problem solving, procedures and abilities to safely cavern dive within specified limits.

Develop basic cave diving skills with limited penetrations beyond the cavern zone.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Primary cylinder (minimum of 72 cu/ft) with dual outlet valve or back-mount double cylinders with dual outlet manifold
- Back-mount BC of adequate lift for configuration with LP inflator
- Primary regulator system with 7’ hose and redundant regulator system (octopus inflation system not allowed) with SPG
- Redundant depth and timing devices or dive computers
- Primary canister light with illumination and burn-time sufficient for planned dives
- Two back-up lights sufficient for planned dives
- One primary reel per team
- Two safety reels per diver
- Knife/line cutter
- Submersible dive tables, wet-notes and pencil
- Accessory equipment dictated by instructor and/or site conditions (e.g. low profile/dark silicone mask & paddle blade fins recommended)
- Exposure suit adequate for environment (preferably drysuit)
